Whether or not you are already a teacher and would like to be a teacher or professional trainer / instructor in the private sector, this Certificate is for you. Ahdering to a comprehensive syllabus as established by the UK, our course is to prepare trainees to become excellent teachers and trainers to teach in a wide range of contexts. You may also proceed to become a trainer specialised in your field.

Learning Approach

Students will gain a fundamental understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer in relation to legislation, equality, diversity, inclusiveness and meeting the needs of learners. They will be able to use initial and diagnostic assessments and plan and deliver inclusive teaching and learning. Students will also be able to assess learning and use appropriate resources to support effective learning.

Assessment

Students will be assessed based on ITEC's compulsory modules:

Students of the Certificate in Education & Training course are required to take the Mandatory Units and some optional units.

All units are assessed via:

• Portfolio Evidence

• Oral Questioning

• Professional Discussion

As part of the course, students will be required to secure a placement in a suitable environment (more advice on this can be provided by contacting the Academy if you are in doubt). You must have a minimum of 30 hours of teaching practice / experience as part of this qualification to meet the requirements above. You will need to provide audio visual evidence totalling 3 hours to submit to your assessor to demonstrate your competency. These should be separate occasions to show your progression and development.
