Noreen Huni


Noreen Huni, BA (Health & Adult Education), MA (Adult Education), is a Public Health and Social Scientist with over 15 years of successfully working in a number of multi-cultural settings and different environments including local and international NGO’s and state services, rural and urban settings with different audiences. Currently Chief Executive Officer for REPSSI, a 13 country regional NGO set out to provide leadership, quality technical assistance in psychosocial care and support for children and youth affected by poverty, conflict, HIV & AIDS. 

Other contracts held include spearheading the Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV in the East and Southern Africa regions with UNICEF and WHO, setting out programming guidelines for PMTCT; national program manager for OVC capacity enhancement program in Zimbabwe, National Health Education Officer in Zimbabwe and Midwife and General Nurse at Harare Central Hospital.

Her areas of expertise in Health & Social development range from community development, project and programme development and management, implementation, to development research. She is also experienced at applied and policy-making level in the area of community-based interventions.  

Noreen has been working with orphans, vulnerable children and youth related to governmental and non-governmental organisations, building their capacity in identifying, initiating and strengthening sustainable community-based and owned responses for children and youth affected by HIV/AIDS, poverty and conflict in the region. She also has the capacity in strategic planning, policy development and technical expert/consultant, and is experienced in  training, developing materials, designing training courses and modules in health promotion, PMTCT, HIV/AIDS and infant feeding, early childhood development, psychosocial care and support for OVC, OVC and the elderly, CVT and post HIV test support services; nutrition, home based care, mainstreaming HIV/AIDS and Gender, and sustainable agriculture; in using participatory, reflection and action methodologies; and in sub-grants management.
