Prenatal Yoga

Are you pregnant and looking for ways to stay fit and healthy? Yoga may be the answer. Did you know that Yoga can also help you prepare for easy labour? Just like other Yoga courses, prenatal Yoga also involves stretching, mental centering and focused breathing. 

Yoga practice offers plenty of benefits for pregnant women. Pregnant women who practice Yoga usually experience better sleep, reduced stress and anxiety, increased strength, flexibility and endurance of muscles needed for childbirth, decreased lower back pain, nausea, headaches and shortness of breath, decreased risk of preterm labour, pregnancy-induced hypertension and easier labour.

Pregnant women who practise Yoga will develop more strength in their lower body to carry the pregnancy weight and compensate for changes in balance. They will also develop strength of the upper body to handle the weight they will be carrying around after the birth of the baby. Breathing exercises in Yoga practice is also incredibly helpful during pregnancy for its calming and centering purposes. It maximises oxygen flow, which is an invaluable asset for pain management in labour and birth.

Why enrol for the "Prenatal Yoga" course?
Joining the "Prenatal Yoga" course can help pregnant women meet and bond with other new mothers-to-be. These classes also teach pregnant women how to manage the stress of being a new parent. As instructors at Sandhya Maarga Institute of Holistic Living are experienced natural health practitioners, pregnant students will be taught Asanas (postures) that are safe for both themselves and the baby.

The Prenatal Yoga course from Sandhya Maarga offers a programme that allows dads-to-be to join in the course. This is an excellent opportunity for the dads-to-be to bond and assist the new mother with the Asanas as well as reaping the health benefits the course can offer for themselves.

Who can join this course?
Any expecting mother. (A maximum of 9 months pregnancy)

Prenatal Yoga Course fees (individual mothers) - RM600 per month (X3 for whole term)

**All Yoga courses at Sandhya Maarga Holistic Living Academy follow the 'term' system. For most of our courses, the course term lasts for approximately 3 months (12 weeks).
